Clinical work
Dr. Wozniak graduated in 2003 from the Faculty of Medicine at the Medical University of Gdansk, Poland. Between 2005 and 2010 he completed his emergency medicine residency in the Emergency Department of St. Wojciech Hospital in Gdansk. In 2011 Dr. Wozniak took his emergency medicine National Board Examination and achieved the highest grade possible. Presently, he is an active emergency medicine specialist, working in the Emergency Department of the University Clinical Centre in Gdansk. Along with these duties, he works as a flight physician in the Helicopter Emergency Medical Service, Gdansk Division.
Teaching and research
Along with his clinical work, Dr. Wozniak serves as an academic teacher in the Department of Emergency Medicine, Medical University of Gdansk. As of 2005, he has been an active member of the Polish Society for Emergency Medicine. In addition, from 2008 to 2009 he was a recipient of a NIH Fogarty International Clinical Research Fellowship at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, Michigan. Dr. Wozniak is also an American Health Association ACLS Provider Course Instructor.
Main professional interests and personal life
Dr. Wozniak’s professional interests include prognostic factors in critically ill patients and in post-resuscitation care, as well as the treatment of patients with multi-organ injuries.
In his private life Dr. Wozniak, a former glider pilot, is a military aviation enthusiast. Although he cannot imagine his life without emergency medicine, he can envision himself working as a pilot as an alternative professional career. In his free time, away from his medical career, Dr. Wozniak is an avid runner and hiker. He also enjoys sailing and winter swimming. He and his wife, who is a lawyer, share their lives with their two children, aged five and seven.
