Professional experience

Dr. Alina Lukasik is a graduate of the Faculty of Medicine, Poznan University of Medical Sciences. Upon completion of her postgraduate internship at the Wielkopolska Center of Oncology in Poznan, she began her specialty training in the field of emergency medicine. In 2006 she became the first physician in the Wielkopolskie Voivodship to complete a five-year training program earning her the title of emergency medicine specialist. For the last twelve years Dr. Lukasik has served as the head of the Emergency Department at the Provincial Hospital in Poznan. Her department is one of the two largest emergency departments in the Wielkopolskie Voivodship. In addition, she also works as a physician in the pre-hospital emergency medical services. From 1996 to 2001 she worked as a medical representative for a pharmaceutical company.

Education, teaching and organizational work

From 2008 to 2016 Dr. Lukasik worked as an academic teacher in the Department of Emergency Medicine, Faculty of Health Sciences at Poznan University of Health Sciences. At the same time, she served as the EMS Coordinator in the wielkopolskie voivodship. Moreover, from 2013 to 2018 she served as the voivodship emergency medicine consultant for the Wielkopolska region.

Dr. Lukasik’s ongoing professional growth includes: certification as an Internal Auditor of Quality Management System compliant with ISO 9001:2000 (2007). She received a postgraduate degree in Medical Law, Bioethics and Sociology of Medicine at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Warsaw, Poland (2008). In 2009 she completed a European Law Studies Course in the field of Economics and Management of Independent Health Care Institutions. She was a participant in the WHO sponsored workshop, “Hospital Emergency Preparedness Planning” (2010). Moreover, Dr. Lukasik received her postgraduate degree in “Geriatrics with Aspects of Palliative Medicine”, Poznan University of Medical Sciences.

Since 2002, Dr. Lukasik has participated in multiple congresses, symposia and conferences, including every annual Winter Symposium of Emergency Medicine and Intensive Care in Karpacz, Poland. She has been an active member of the Polish Society for Emergency Medicine since 2002, and was elevated to the board in 2019.
